Fifteen-year-old Prabin P.B., a cheerful teenager from Neduvan Villa, Pappanam Thottam, Parassala, Kerala, was living a normal life until July 2024, when his family’s world turned upside down. Diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma on his left femur, a rare and aggressive form of bone cancer, Prabin was referred to the Regional Cancer Centre (RCC), Trivandrum, for immediate treatment under the supervision of Dr. Prakash N.P. Despite the daunting news, Prabin’s determination and courage have been unwavering. His treatment journey began on 3rd July 2024, and after several consultations and tests, the medical team decided that an amputation of his left leg was the only viable option to save his life and halt the spread of the disease. This life-altering surgery is scheduled for 10th January 2025. The financial burden of this journey has been overwhelming for Prabin’s family. The estimated cost of the surgery and the ten years of follow-up treatments amounts to ₹30 lakhs, a sum far beyond their means.
